I was just watching the American version of the BBC - "BBC World" on our national public television stations.
It was reported that American Automobile Manufacturers were experiencing a substantial drop in sales as they were grappling with high labor costs and soaring health care costs.
Frame it this way:
"One day we wake up with rising fuel costs, stratospheric home costs and "self regulation" by our drug companies that has amounted to pillaging, and you've got a real demand for sleek smaller cars with great gas mileage - (a market segment that the US auto makers skipped)."
"This is a repeat of the late 70s when there was a waiting list to purchase Hondas - smaller fuel efficient cars against rising costs everywhere. "
or
The CEO's of the car companies are making $10,000 to $20,000 per hour creating an almost completely lopsided line of gas guzzlers and they blame all their mismanagement on the workers who've seen their pensions raided and dignity challenged!

Framing a Democrats viewpoint
It's pretty much beyond toleration - this lack of framing an issue so that the people can get their heads around it.
Here are some ideas:
Regarding the disparity between the rich and the poor:
"the average CEO makes $10,000 an hour - do they really need a big tax break while we have the biggest spenders in US history running the government?"
Regarding Health care:
"Hawaii has had universal health care for years and they're doing very well"
or
"the average CEO makes $10,000 per hour - if they only made $5,000 per hour over 8,000 employees could have health care coverage with the other half every month"
Regarding the demise of our Auto industry and blaming it on labor costs and health care costs:
"If pension funds were not raided and if they were regulated - that is: if the money the employees put into their retirement accounts were not allowed to be stolen from, we would not have any problem - just like our social Security System would not have any problems if Reagan and Bush had not raided those accounts."
Regarding Rebulicans:
"the party of the big spenders"
"the prison party - they love prisons, they support prisons and they attend prisons - George Bush Jr. employs more convicted felons than any president in US history"
Regarding the upper 2%:
If you don't make $20,000 per month, you're not in the upper 2%
"The average upper 2%er makes $127,000 per month - did bush jr. really need to give these guys a huge tax break while he went on the biggest spending spree in US history."
"Rebublicans essentially believe that taxes are evil and therefore should be spent on their friends and bedfellows, not in the interests of the United States and the American people. They pillage our money, they don't really even spend it."
